ReplyDeleteI think that the librarian is a person who watches over the Pod and receives help to anyone who might be in need of it. So the librarian, I think is a ghost who appears to help people.

ReplyDeleteI think the librarian is a member of the Deep who is a traitor. I think they have similar ideas as Kate, and they are helping Kate for the greater good. I think they may be a shadow because they are so sneaky. I think they are going above and stealing books from libraries, or pretending to be a normal person checking out books. I don't think that it is a test for Kate. I think someone wants to help her learn more about the world in case she ever has to leave the Deep or live life above.
The librarian is very suspicious. I think he is a friend of the deep. I think he is very cleaver and helps the deep. I cant make a prediction on who it is. It's hard to tell but he sounds pretty low-key. I wonder if he ever comes out to socialize.

ReplyDeleteThe librarian of the deep is dark and mysterious. I can't quite think of who the librarian is but I think that he is a ghost. He even said "I've been down here before your grandfather." therefore, he may be a ghost.
I think the Librarian is one of the unknown Originals but likes to go against the rules of the Deep. I think he likes to help anyone who is struggling because he gave Kate the articles when she wasn't sure if her grandmother was telling her the truth. I don't really think that the librarian is a ghost though it is possible because Kate says he always goes 'poof'. My thoughts are that he could be somehow related to Coop and Pat because Coop is always saying that he's always been drawn to something which happens to be underground. Where the whole Deep issue is going on and his possible relative could be connected to. Also, when he was young he loved to dig tunnels. It could run in the family to like the underground.

ReplyDeleteI think the librarian was a member of the deep but left to help people. I think this person is trying to get information from Kate to help the deep. The deep might want information about the surface to kidnap and force people to be in the deep. Maybe he is trying to leave the deep in secret and live above ground. I think the librarian is going to trick Kate somehow. Possibly Kate is going to be kidnapped by the librarian.

This gives me reason to believe the libarian grew up in the deep, died in the deep, and is now helping people in the deep as a ghost.
I think he is a ghost because the book said the libarian is there and then when you look away for a second and look back he is gone.
I also think the librarian is going to try and help Pat. He's going to try doing this by distracting Lod and the seekers.

ReplyDeleteI think that the librarian used to be a member of the deep. Then he died in the deep. Then became a ghost who appears to help people in need that live in the deep. I think that he also protects the pod. I think this because he says, “ I’ve been down here before your grandfather.”
I think that he is a ghost because in the book it says if you look away and look back he is gone.
I believe that the librarian is one of the originals plotting against Lod. I think he knows what is going on and is trying to help Kate rebel against her Grandfather. He told Kate about what Lod did through the newspapers and is now trying to get her to help him stop Lod from his evil plans. I think that the Librarian is a original because they would know where to hide if someone came around. ( "Poof" ). He might be related to Kate because he seems very fond of her, they could have picked anyone else but they picked Kate. All in all, it seems very reasonable to consider that the Librarian is related to Kate, but is also an original.

ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that the librarian IS Lod. Simply only because we haven't met any other characters that fit the description. Lod could also be two faced and has more feelings for Kate than the other people in the deep know of because its his grand daughter. He could truly care for Kate but when around other people, acts like a terrible person who hates her. Due to his love for his grand daughter, he could also be helping her, but is role playing against her. Kate has also mentioned that this person knows everything, and the only other person that knows everything is Lod. For these reasons, I am guessing that the librarian is Lod.
when i came to this question i was like uh oh because i am a read book, anwser Questions later. and i have a hard time not know things i know.help!

I also think that the librarian was a member of the deep. Then he left the deep to help people. I think he is trying to help Kate.

ReplyDeleteI think that the librarian is one of the originals that is a traitor. I think he is against Lod, and wants help from Kate to overthrow/kill Lod. He first has to befriend her and gain her trust before he can tell her his plots. I think he is going to use whatever secret plans Lod makes during all the meetings the originals have. I also think that who ever is the librarian is one of Coop's friends. I think he will try to get Coop to help kill Lod as well.
I think that the Librarian is an original member of the deep. I think this because he says that he "has been here as long as your [Kate's] grandfather".I believe that he knows all of the ins and outs of the deep and/or the Pod. The Librarian (in theory) also was the only successful escape attempt and can go above ground any time he wants.and he is showing Kate books that he thinks that she will like. I also think that he knows what Lod is planning and has teamed up with Coop, and is trying to team up with Kate and Pat so that he can stop it.
ReplyDeleteWell I know a few things about the Librarian. As of right now I don't think the man behind the librarian has yet to be introduced because it doesn’t match with any character so far. He appears to know Kate and where she lives so he is probably related to Kate. He has a way to the surface and can come down undetected to bring books to Kate. I think he is pretty old. Lod doesn't know he exist so maybe there is more to the story behind the two of them.

ReplyDeleteI think that the Librarian is an ordinal that had left the pod. I believe that the Librarian is helping Kate because he knows something that she doesn't and wants to help her. I said in the book that Kate would stay up at night reading the books the Librarian left for her. Meaning that Kate trusts the Liberian.

ReplyDeleteThe librarian is Lod's brother. He was there when Lod killed Kate's parents then he ran away. He has secret hiding places all over the deep. he hacked all the cameras. He watches everyone and knows everything. At the end of a path if you look up there is a passage way that leads to his base. The librarian knows when Kate needs help because he watches her and what she is doing.

ReplyDeleteI think the Librarian is an Original. Kate said that the “Librarian is old,” and the Originals are also old. Since Lod is the one who found the Deep and the Originals helped, the Originals and Lod are super old. Besides that, the Originals and the Shadows guard the Deep. Maybe the Librarian is an Original, and the Original could be guarding the Library. Therefore, I think the Librarian is an Original.
I think that the Librarian is a friend of Lod's or else how could he have known about the POD.

He just felt so comfortable in the deep, like it was home. It seemed like he knew his was around the deep pretty well. I think he might have a key to the room.

ReplyDeleteI believe the librarian is posty. I think this because Posty seems to be a very nice character. According to the book Beneath, “He wears a tattered suit and tie. Thick, black framed glasses.” In other words, the librarian wears a suit and tie (just like Posty) and glasses. He also said he knew Kate’s Grandfather, or Lod. This means that the Librarian would of had to encounter him at some point during his life. He could of been the one who found Kate’s dead parents in the bumpster. Posty found Kate’s parents so he must be the librarian.

I think he might also want to help Kate. He gave her the newspaper articles telling her the truth about what really happened to her parents. I think the he wants Kate to gain trust on him because he might be a relative or just one who is in need of help to kill Lod. In the end I think he was one of the originals but also a relative to Kate.

ReplyDeleteI think Terry could be the Librarian. He seems to know a lot about the Deep. Terry is very secretive and careful about everything he does. He seems to know a lot about the community & the rules like putting a hood over Pat into the entrance & exit to the community. Terry will not answer any questions about Coop, only that Pat had to go ask May. I hope the Librarian will be helpful to Pat & it seems like Terry could have a lot of answers.

ReplyDeleteI think that the librarian is one of the Originals from the Deep. I think that he wants to go against what Lod's rules of the Deep. He is providing these books that are Subversive propaganda. He even gave her the articles about what really happened with her parents. He gave her information that not even her grandmother or grandfather would tell her. He is constantly trying to help Kate in a way that could be hard to see.

ReplyDeleteI predict that the librarian is from the Deep-maybe an Original. I think this because he seems to know everything. On page 165 we read that the Librarian tells Kate "I know everything about the Pod." To me, this means he must be an Original. He also goes into the deep to deliver books to Kate, and Kate lives in the deep. Community members wouldn't dare go into the deep, and no one else knows about the deep, except the Community and the members of the deep/Pod. This leads me to believe he is an Original.

ReplyDeleteMy prediction is that the Librarian is an Original. Kate once said that even she didn't know all of the Original's, even though she was Lod's granddaughter. The Librarian is said to be old, and the Originals are people who were there at the beginning of the Pod. The Original's also know there way all around underground, and it seems like the Librarian knows his way around if he can disappear that easily. Shadows do not track the Originals, so the Librarian can easily go where ever he wants without worrying about anyone tracking him.
From my reading I think that the librarian is an original who was kicked out of the deep before Kate was born. To further explain, if the librarian was kicked out of the deep before Kate was born then they would've had time to find hiding spots around the deep making them seem like they disappeared into thin air whenever someone would follow them. If the librarian isn't an original then how would they know where the deep was? Only very few people actually know how to get to the deep. Also, the librarian has access to different types of books unlike the deep which only allows very few books because the Originals won't allow it. If the librarian wasn't an Original I find it hard for him to be an old person who was living in the deep before the pods appeared. If they are an old person why would they randomly be giving banned books to LODs? It makes sense if he is an original of some sort why else would he know about Kate's dead parents and unlike Lod give her information about her parents being gone.

ReplyDeleteI think that the librarian is a man who came from the top and was somehow sent or came down to the deep. He seems like he wants no part in the pod. It also seems like he keeps to himself and has lots of knowledge.

This makes me think that Lod kicked his brother out because he was gaining too much power. The Librarian already knew about the Pod (People of the Deep) and wanted revenge on his brother and decided to take over again from the inside. If you will control the grid from off the grid. This is my prediction at least.

ReplyDeleteI think that the Librarian was one of the people who was born and raised in the Deep, before he became the librarian. I think he might have become an original for a while, and that's how he knows where everything is and can go around without getting lost. He probably did something bad or went up top for too long. After that either Lod banished him or sent him to the “mush rooms,” but if they sent him down there he obviously escaped. Another possibility is that he was the community’s old librarian, and he found and started exploring the deep until he knew like the palm of his hand. Then eventually after years he took interest in kate and started lending her books. To me, those are the most reasonable explanations to who he is.
