Could you live beneath like Coop or the PODs (People of the Deep)?  What would be advantages and disadvantages?

I could live beneath like like the Pods and like Cooper. I would just want to be able to leave when ever I want instead of only some people having special permission to leave the Deep. I could live like the community except I would not want to eat out of the dumpsters. I would much rather live like the Pod does and be able to leave when I want, rather than live like the community and eat out of the dumpsters. I could not live down there unless I absolutely really had to.

I think I could live like the PODs and Coop. I think that when you live underground like the PODs, you lose track of night and day, and even time. I think that sleeping in the day and being awake at night is easy for Coop once he got underground. You get to live underground, which I think is really cool. It's like your own little fantasy world. You don't have to care about the current U.S. president, or bad weather. It's also probably pretty warm most of the time. The bad thing is that you are surrounded by the same people every day, which can get annoying and boring. If there was an earthquake you could get trapped or die. You'd never see the sunlight or stars, and you wouldn't see any wildlife either.

I don't think I could live beneath like Coop or the people of the deep. A disadvantage of living beneath is that you would most likely be dirty most of the time. Another disadvantage of living beneath is that you would be bored most of the time, there could be something pop up about something that you think would be pretty fun. An advantage of living beneath is that you wouldn't have to deal with society, you also don't have to deal with politics every four years.

I don't think I could live like POD's and Coop because I hate the dark and tight spaces. I think it would also be annoying seeing the same exact things everyday and the same people too. You wouldn't be able to leave without permission and wouldn't be able to see the sun moon and stars. You would not enjoy that. Though it would have it's advantages when it comes to a nice place to stay and you wouldn't have to eat out of the dumpster's like the community. You wouldn't have to deal with politics, society and all the things that are happening above. You could enjoy a peaceful life but sometimes that can get boring in my opinion. Unless a war is going on and is close to the area that I live, I’d get down there, if not no way would I get down there.

I think that I would be able to live like the POD's and Coop because I like the dark but I don't really care for tight spaces. Some disadvantages would be that you can't leave, you cant see the sun or the moon and you can't watch the stars at night. Some of the advantages it would have would be you wouldn't have be involved in a war if one happened, you wouldn't loose your job, you wouldn't be as vulnerable, you wouldn't be homeless and You wouldn't have to deal with politics, society, drama and practically all the other things that are happening above also you would have to eat out of dumpsters.

  6. I think that I can live like the POD's. I think I can live like the POD's because I think it would be nice to live a new lifestyle. Also you are less likely to get stalked. You can eat and sleep when you want to and also you won't have to socialize as much. I also love getting dirty and grubby, I love it when my hands are dirty. It would also be a quiet place to relax with no city noise and screaming.

Yes, I could live in the deep like Coop and the PODs. I think I could live in the deep because I know how to fish and look for food in the wilderness. I wouldn’t have to always rely on the POD to bring me food. Some advantages of living beneath is the ability to navigate in pitch black darkness and be able to go to the surface like the Shadows, Seekers, LOD, and Originals. Some disadvantages of the deep are you can only live there if you are kidnapped or born there. Also, the Shadows have to wear dark sunglasses and stay in the shadows on the surface.

  8. Dakota s. no I whuld not be able to live in the deep. I would starve to death, die of sickness, I would be bored, break my legs, and get slouterd if I try to escape.

I think that I could live in the deep if I was a Pod. if I lived in the deep I would want be able to leave at will. I would not want to have to eat out of the dumpsters. I would be cool because you could do something illegal above then hide beneath and not get caught. You would get your food for free. You wouldn’t have to pay any bills for electricity if you didn’t use it. You wouldn’t need to pay as much of your water bill either.

  10. I believe I could live in the Deep. I think their system works well and they seem to live just fine underground. There is food and plenty of things to do. If I did live in the Pod though. I would want to be a Shadow able to move around and leave the compound. They have trained dogs that you can use to find things and although it is dangerous, I would know the terrain after living their. I'm not afraid of enclosed spaces or large ones, I have no fear of the dark. I think I would be just fine living in the Deep.

I think I could live in the deep. I would want to leave whenever I want. If I could leave whenever I want, I would be able to live in the deep. They do have food. I don't think I would get board. The only problem would be the dark, other than that, I think I could live in the deep.

I do not think I could live in the deep. I think it would get really boring after a while because it's always dark and there is no wildlife or stars to see. I also believe it would get a little too warm down there fairly quick. However, it would most likely be nice in the winter, but it's still just doesn't sound like something I'd like. I like to see the sky and not eat from dumpsters. I guess some people do still have to eat from dumpsters even though they are above ground. Nevertheless, staying underground like the people from the deep does not sound very thrilling to me.

From what I hear in the chapters, I could probably live in the deep. It seems to be a very big place. Possibly bigger than Fallon to be honest. A pro would be that there doesn't seem to be very many crimes or disasters (based off text in book) and as said in a chapter, you can get free furniture and appliances from the catalog. One con is that you will probably never see the sun again or feel the warmth. I personally love feeling the sun outside so that would be a downside.

  14. I could never live in the Pod. I love the outdoors and the sun in my face and living underground, that would never happen. Secondly, I LOVE books and if Harry Potter isn't allowed then I don't want to live there. Although free food and/or furniture is pretty cool. If I had to choose I would live in the community, beneath. However I would have to sneak a job like Posty. It would be cool to have a job and money that you could give to the needy or other organizations and not have to worry about rent and food. And about the dumpster food, I am honestly okay with it.

I could not live like the POD. I would not be able to eat out of a dumpster, I am already a super picky eater. I could never live away from my dog. I couldn't stand not being able to play sports outside. However don't have much responsibility. Also you don't have to worry about crime. In addition you do get free furniture.

  16. I could not live beneath because like most people I do not like extremely small spaces. I also don’t like really like super dark places. I suppose you do have access to a lot of underground resources, like metals. I guess you would probably have a hard time getting around because of all the twisty tunnels and drops. So no I would not want to live in the deep below.

I think it would be both good and bad if I lived in the Deep . Some advantages I would have is that I am short, so I can fit in small places. I also am not claustrophobic, so I can squeeze in thin and narrow places. Some disadvantages that I would have is that I can’t run away if Lod was chasing me, because I’m small. The seekers would be able to track me because of my sent. Therefore, it would be half and half if I lived in the Deep.

  18. I think living under would have more of a disadvantage because you would not have places to go for food and close but if you where in a live or death spot so you would haft to hied and that's one of the only advantages for living under ground.

Well, It all depends on what I am doing for example, if I had some type of job like a cook or electrician, I wouldn't mind but if I was a mushroom farmer I could not handle it. That would just be the worst, picking mushrooms and truffles all day and night unwillingly knowing that if I stop I'll probably die, because of the dogs or the guards besides even if I did escape from the dogs, guards, originals, and the whole POD community I would die in the tunnels trying to get above. and even if I did get above I would probably end up the same way Kate's parents ended up. But, I still don't think even if I was an original I couldn't live in the deep. I couldn't because I would miss breathing the fresh air and seeing the cloud's and the sun.

I believe that I could live beneath like the pod. The advantages of being in the deep are you can't get sunburnt, everything is free, and you would know everybody. Disadvantages of living in the deep are you don't ever get to go up top, you would be bored, and you would never get to meet new people.

I believe I could live beneath. A reason I think I could live beneath is you are supplied with many life necessity's like food, water, and shelter. There are disadvantages like you cant leave very often, you have to get used to the dark, and if you leave forever you will be murdered. Those are my advantages and disadvantages for if I lived beneath.

I personally could not live in the deep. I would hate not being able to breathe fresh air or see the sunlight. I don't believe there would be any advantages living down there. I like to be outside and do things like be at the lake on our boat knee boarding, Sand Mountain, camping, etc. I would not enjoy living in the deep.

  23. In my opinion I could not live in the deep because I would miss seeing the sun set and rise. I don't possibly believe that there are any advantages down in the deep.

I don't know if I could live in the deep. I know what life is like up here and all the things it offers. Knowing the stuff I do I probably could not. I would probably get too bored and too hot. Most of the people that live down there have been down there for so long they pretty much have forgotten life up top. If I was born in the Deep I could because I would not know any other way but with the choice no.

  25. In my opinion, I don't think I could live down in the deep or the community. One advantage is I can travel faster without traffic. The disadvantage, is living in the deep or the community is a higher chance of you catching a disease.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I believe I could live in the deep but not the community. I say this because as stated on page 196 Kate Said that the deep is just setup to sound horrible but its not all that bad. But I believe the community would be unbearable to live in because its not well guarded, small, you eat trash, you wear trash and the people are standoffish. another thing about the community is all the furniture is old. But on the other hand the deep has a store new furniture a source of income and you get your own apartment with utilities & appliances. The deep also offers a hospital jobs and security. But the only downside is that you can rare occasions you can go above unless that is your job.

I wouldn’t be able to live beneath. I am claustrophobic and just reading this book gives me a stomach ache. One disadvantage of living beneath is the bugs. When Kate and Pat were crawling through the brick pile there was lots of bugs and spider webs. According to the book Beneath, “Things fell in my hair and dropped on my face.” This means that bugs and creepy crawlies (most likely dead) fall in his faces and hair while he was crawling. Just walking through a spider web makes me shiver. An advantage on living beneath is getting away from people and civilization. For example, bellow there are not that many people but above there are tons of people, so going beneath just keeps you from talking or socializing with anyone.

I wouldn't be able to live beneath like Coop or the Pods. It seems like it would be super boring doing and seeing the same things everyday. Plus if I were to live beneath I would want to be able to go above and explore. Although there are some advantages. For example, if I lived in the deep I wouldn't have to eat out of dumpsters. I would get a decent meal and and wouldn't have to deal with everything that happens in the city. For example, car crashes or going to school. But if I was forced to live beneath I guess i could make it work.

Yes, I could live beneath like Coop. Some advantages would be living away from the regular people of the above world. I would be able to explore and invent new things that the PODs did not have beneath. There would be lots of quiet and alone time, but you would still be a part of a community. Some disadvantages would be I really do not like tight spaces. It would take me time to get use to the environment.

I don't thing that I would be able to live in beneath. I think that I would get really bored. It seems like people that live beneath don't have any real purpose. But it does seem kind of fun being secretive. Having nobody knowing who you are or what you do, continually being mysterious. Never having to worry about the outside world.

No, I could not live beneath like Coop and the PODs because I am claustrophobic. Some disadvantages to living beneath would be you would never be exposed to sunlight or moonlight. However, an advantage would be that you wouldn't be exposed to UV rays. You wouldn't really see other people or meet new people because you're only socializing with the same people every day. However, if you're an introvert that might be considered an advantage. Another disadvantage is that you could never go swimming-that would be horrible. Also, I don't think I could dumpster dive-that's a definite disadvantage...I like the food I eat now.

  32. Based on what I read, I don't think I could live beneath like Coop and the PODs. Some advantages of living beneath are everything is free, specially trained people protect you from intruders, and only a few people know about the deep. Some disadvantages living beneath are it's dark, if you try to escape you’ll die, and you will only have access to the community living beneath. In other words, it's so dark beneath the people of the deep have adapted to their living environment. For example, they look paler than a regular human, and have slowly grown accustomed to seeing in the dark. If you ever want to go above then shadows will kill you before you make it above, for security reasons. Every single day you will see the same people constantly over and over again because you are living in a small community hidden beneath. Eventually you'd want to meet new people, instead of the ones you have known your whole life.

I do not think I could live beneath like the POD. The disadvantages of living in the Deep is that it is a very controlling place, and you could never leave and explore new places. You would never be able to see the daylight, or the moon and stars. You will know only the people who live underground, and you can't do anything exciting with your life because you can't leave. The advantages of living in the Deep is that food, water, and a place to sleep is all free. And, since you are underground, there are no weather threats like tornados or flooding.

I think that living in the deep would have more disadvantages than disadvantages, starting with advantages, you wouldn't have to pay taxes, or bills, if you're born down there, you get a free home, with disadvantages though, you have almost no freedom, working in the mush room all day, and doing nothing, and your great ruler, Lod, doesn't give a care.

I don't think that I could live beneath. You would have to work for Lod all of the time and you wouldn't have much freedom. There are some advantages to it as well such as a free home and food and water as well as protection from the elements. You wouldn't have to pay taxes either. It's not that I don't think the pros are better than the cons, it's the fact that I would rather want to be free and live my life and not be stuck beneath with no freedom. You would also have to be on the same routine day after day.

This question shocked me a bit. If I really think about it, I could live beneath like the POD or the community. The thing here is that I wouldn't want to. It's not that I mind getting dirty,(even though that would be a disadvantage) it's more of a paranoid person problem. For example, it takes hours to just get to the exit, I don't have a great memory or the patience to do it. Not to mention I don't do well in tight and dark spaces. And if I couldn't leave like the pod? I’d go insane. I am a very paranoid person. I am also an optimist so i can cheer myself up but that only gets me so far to being okay. What if the roof fell on top of everybody and we all died? just like that?? What if a gas or water pipe broke at night? We’d all drown or die intoxicated. What if somebody just decided to kill us all and leave? Nobody would notice. We wouldnt ever get enough vitamin D from the sun. What if the oxygen ran out because there were no plants? What would we do with our waste? The advantages, although, would be no allergies from plants, No Authorities, and No windows for stalkers. That is about all I can think about.

I think that I could live beneath for about a month or so. If I tried living beneath for years like true People of the Deep because I like to move around and stop getting along with people when I stay with them for extended periods of time. Pros (for me) not as much human interaction. Another is living underground which is just awesome by itself, and lots of people living underground makes it even more awesome. I love doing things to the extreme and living underground is pretty extreme. Cons (for me) like I said above I like to move and don´t like be confined. I can take it it just makes be uncomfortable. The thought of living beneath makes me uncomfortable but I think I could do it given the right motivation.
